At the end of the year, we all need to know what our business profit, and expenses are. They need to be broken down into different catagories. If you use Peachtree or Quickbooks, it will work great. Their is a difference between the programs. They both can be specific for your business type, and their is a huge difference with the inventory.

Peachtree will offer you FIFO and LIFO and give you an accurate amount of your profit or loss. Quickbooks will give you the average. Its just the way they work. Make sure you enter every thing you spend or income so it will be easy on your accountant, and doing taxes. Towards the end of the year, its always good to go-ahead and order any supplies, or business checks you need so it can be written off for the current year.

With any accounting software, you always need to keep it updated. If your using a older version of Quickbooks, yes it will still work for your accounting, but it wont have the latest features or upgrades you may need to keep current with payroll or other features. If you make a purchase for Quickbooks business checks, check to make sure your software is upgraded.

Buy upgrading will even allow you to upgrade to the next level if you need to. With a business growing, always go up to the next level, so you wont have to worry about running out of space or having a technical problem. One important thing is that the banks will require you to have a certain year of quickbooks to work with their software, so then you can download and reconcile your account easier.

How do you keep track of everything your doing with your business? Are you using quickbooks, or peachtree? Well one thing is that when your doing a “charge item”, make sure your keeping track of how many times you are charging for a service your company is providing. Keeping track will help you if you need to replace that hardware.

A charge for color printing is always going to be a “charge item.” Keeping track of how often you charge and use it will help you to determine if you need to upgrade or expand more equipment. A company that converts bulk blank business checks into a usable business checks that has a color logo printed, and keeping track of a charge item is always important to the customers. Usually you can charge a flat fee, or per qty based.

Change your payment methods when doing large business quotes

Its really exciting when your business gets new customers, but with a large quote. I had sent a quote to the customer, but due to the dollar amount. I had to make some changes. She got a great deal, but I had to be careful as well. I accept all form of payments through my website. But since this was a huge order. I had to change it. I will only accept a check or wire transfer.

If you ever have a charge back, but you sent the customer the product. Take the order amount, and double it. You lost the product, plus the order. You wouldnt want to take the risk on a huge order. Never send out a order with out receiving the payment in full. If its a check, it will take 5-10 days to clear. If its a wire transfer, then it will be right away you’ll receive the money. If you purchase more qty in the long run, the cheaper it will be, just like for cheap business checks. You can always email or call the business and find out what is going to be the best deal.

Ok, we all have heard of the biggest banks in America be sneaky about their bank fees. They have dropped the debit card fees and others. Well guess what? They are going to find another way to get the money they will loose with the frank dodd act that has been in place just over a month now. If your in a contract with your current merchant account, how can you change the funds to a different bank or credit union?

Just call your merchant provider customer service, and ask to have your deposits to be changed to a different account. They will ask for the routing number and account number. It can take 24-48 hrs for the change to take place, but at least you can change banks with out a contract. When you change banks, you can order bulk blank checks and imprint your own business checks, but you’ll need the right program, printer, and MICR toner as well to be in compliance with the banks. As always, if your not sure about something, always call and ask to be on the safe side.

Today in the news. They were talking about Bank of America and Wells Fargo Bank with customer service. They had won the best customer service award. Problem resolution is an issue industry-wide. Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo were statistically tied with 64%, 66%, and 64% of customers’ issues resolved on the customer service call, while 57% of Citi customers surveyed reported their problems were solved with their customer service.

Offer the best and your brand and company will stand out. Who would want to do business with someone that wont help you. When your ordering business checks, you’ll have questions, like: what is your shipping policy? Do you offer a proof or samples? What happens if i order the wrong product? I cant get my debit/credit card to go through? Helping with the most important part of your business and being nice, friendly, and helpful will go along way. So….do what is right and help others. You’ll have a higher conversion rate, and repeat customers for sure. If your ordering quickbooks business checks, make sure you have your logo imprinted.

The new normal: Higher bank fees are here to stay

In the banking industry. Reports from this week are talking that banks are having a hard time making money the old-fashioned way, by lending money to consumers and businesses. Reason: interest rates are at historic lows. That makes it harder for banks to charge high rates on loans. Banks say the latest round of fees was triggered by a new federal law championed by Senator Dick Durbin. The law caps the amount banks can charge merchants for debit card usage from 44 cents to 24 cents per transaction.

The major banks are finding ways to pass the fees to the consumers. One way is by charging a fee for using your debit card. We all may have to back to the old traditional way, and that is by using cash, and business checks, or personal checks. We will need to be more responsible and keep a better track of using our own money, vs logging onto the internet and see what is left. Simple old fashion ways is still good. Yes you can still make your own cheap business business checks with the right software, printer (with micr toner), and bulk blank checks

Do you want more customers and increase your customer conversions? A few things you can do. Increase your customer service. If your on the phone, have a great personality, and professionalism. Dont make your customers feel like that your in a hurry to get off the phone to get to the next customers. Treat everyone equality. If you have a huge quote and order to do. Help them out, especially if they are new customers. Do the quote, offer the price, set up the account for them, and help them with the check out process. Next time, show them how they can re-order the same thing easier.

By offering your customers more options, great customer service, and a wide variety of payment opinions. Your customers will come back each and every time. Make sure you fulfill the order quickly and exceed their expectations. Do follow up’s with the customers to make sure everything is ok and their product/service is just what you wanted. IF you accept business checks for a payment and they are a re-peat customer. Don’t wait for the check to clear as it has before, and process their order quicker, as you know it will go through. So…little things can make a huge impact on your brand and company.

Its always a good idea to save money, and dont wait to the last moment to order checks, then have them to be shipped express. Shipping express will cost you more, especially if the company your ordering from is across the country. When starting a new business, always look for the best deal as possible. Express shipping will cost you more.

Buy more in quantity as it will save you more money for the order. 250 Qty can cost up to $.15 each each, where as 3000 can be $.08 per sheet/check. If you look in the right spot, you can always find a good deal online. Dont forget to order your envelopes along with the checks. Business checks come in so many different styles, and colors.

Well its time of the year again. Hurricane season. Is bad weather coming to your area? What kind of back up plan do you have for your business? Make a back up copy of your business insurance, accounting program, and other important business documents that you may have. Back up your documents off site, put it on a CD and place it into the Safety deposit box, or any other means you have.

With the hurricane season coming, its good to always have a back up plan. Take pictures of your business (inside and out), and when you come back and you see damage, take pictures of that damage as well. It will help speed up the claim process with your insurance company. Have generators ready to use to help clean up things and any other usage you may need. Have a back up plan for your small business by using hand written business checks as a backup if you cant get to your quickbooks business checks. Have that account as an emergency account till you can get the accounting going again. Place the receipts into a box that you can balance the books later on with.
