Business Checks

Let’s face it, in a time when credit and debit cards are used for almost all purchases, checks have taken a back seat.  In the 1990’s, credit cards existed, but purchasing with a credit card was not streamlined like it is now.  Now it’s just a quick swipe, where before an elaborate screening process was required in addition to a signature.  Businesses that don’t accept debit or credit cards tend not to fare well.  But despite the prevalence of debit and credit cards, checks still have their uses, especially for businesses.  Large deposits or purchases can’t be made with a debit or credit card, and for businesses, often large purchases are required.  It’s not difficult to order business checks, and it can be done through the bank or business checks can be purchased online and printed with the required information.

Even if you don’t use it, it’s a good idea to have a checking account, whether you’re a business or an individual.  For individuals, where would you be without a checkbook when paying for rent or a mortgage, making a large purchase, or sending money to someone in an envelope.  Checks will always be an important part of finances.
