Bulk blank checks are quite beneficial for a growing personal business.  You also have the option of ordering in different colors if your customers want a choice.  No matter what your check purpose, buld blank checks are the best option.

  Ordering in bulk saves business expenses.  If one has the option of choosing from their blank check inventory, time is saved additionally.  Saving time and cost benefit any business.  I enjoy the bulk checks option.

Before setting up the bank account for importing online bank statements, make sure that your bank offers statements in ASO format, the file format that is used by Simply Accounting by Sage.

To set up an account for online banking:

  1. From the home window of Peachtree Accounting, click the Accounts icon.  Open the bank or credit card account record that needs to be set up for online banking.
  2. Click the Class Options tab and enable the option to Use this account for Online Banking.
  3. Enter the branch and account information on the left side.Note: Some banks require you to enter a unique identifier instead of the bank’s transit number in the Transit Number box in the bank’s account record. If you do this, you may want to include the transit number at the beginning of the Account Number box. Contact your bank for more information.
  4. Save and Close the record.

In Peachtree Accounting 2008 and later, forms are arranged in logical groups under the Forms submenu of the Reports and Forms Menu.
1. Select the Reports and Forms Menu.
2. Select Forms submenu Tax Forms.
3. In the Forms list, double-click Payroll Tax Forms. Payroll Tax Forms are now located under the Tax Forms menu along with 1096s and 1099s.

These forms can be found in the Report List area, which is accessible under the Reports menu, selecting Payroll and the Payroll Tax Forms icon.

1. What is Check 21 and what is its basic purpose?

Check 21 is a federal law that is designed to enable banks to handle more personal checks, and business checks electronically, which should make check processing faster and more efficient. Today, banks often must physically move original paper checks from the bank where the checks are deposited to the bank that pays them. This transportation can be inefficient and costly. Check 21 became effective on October 28, 2004.

2. How will Check 21 make check processing more efficient?

Instead of physically moving paper checks from one bank to another, Check 21 will allow banks to process more checks electronically. Banks can capture a picture of the front and back of the check along with the associated payment information and transmit this information electronically. If a receiving bank or its customer requires a paper check, the bank can use the electronic picture and payment information to create a paper “substitute check.” This process enables banks to reduce the cost of physically handling and transporting original paper checks, which can be very expensive.

2.   This is because the sample company is stored on the local machine and is in a folder that everyone has permission to access. To open your company make sure that each machine including the server has a full typical install and that the below are allowed through the firewall: SimplyAccounting_upgradejet.exe and SimplyAccounting_conv150.exe

3.   If you are unsure which firewall program you are using, you should be able to determine this using one of the methods.

a.   Download and run our Security Application Scanner from the Knowledge Base Answer ID: 21514 Attachment area.

b.   Move your mouse pointer over each tray icon to display a tool-tip with the name of that application.  Look for Internet security or firewall software.

c.   Click Start, All Programs then look through your program list for Internet security or firewall software.

d.   Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and select Add or Remove Programs.  Look for Internet security or firewall software.

4.   You may need to manually start the service. This can be done by clicking on Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools then Services. Scroll down to Simply Accounting Database Connection Manager and double-click, then select Start.

5.   There are two methods.

Method #1

a.   Open the Windows Control Panel by clicking (Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel). Select Network Connections, Local Area Connection then select the Support tab and click the Details button.

b.   Click Start, Run, and type cmd and click OK. The DOS console appears. Type ipconfig /all.

6.   No you will have to fix your data before upgrading. Click Maintenance, Check Data Integrity. If balances are uneven then you will need to unlink the account and post to lower or higher the amount. If the database it’s self is damaged then you would need to get it repaired first.

7.   .SAI which is the data file of the MySql structure. .SAJ is the index folder that contains all the information entered into your “set of books”. .CAB is a compressed file that stores the .SAI and .SAJ so that you can safely transfer your “set of books” or preserve them. CAB is also the format the Accountant’s Copy is saved as.

8.   Create a new folder under the root directory C:\, share this folder to the network, and allow other users to modify the contents of it. Open your Simply Accounting by Sage data file, Go to the File menu on the main window and click on Save As Find the new folder under My Computer then C:\,  change the file name and click Save

Note: If you using Windows XP with Vista make sure the data is on the Windows XP machine.

9.   Addresses data problems with Windows and other security program updates that may occur when Simply Accounting is running. Better handles greater numbers of concurrent users accessing a company file without impacting performance.

10.   Your files are stored in a folder that does not have full permission to access. To fix this store your data in a folder directly under the root of C:\ or make sure the user that is logged in has full rights.

inventoryThe Quantity on Hand field under Maintain, Inventory Items is calculated as of the end of your current accounting period. The Quantity on Hand column in Inventory Reports is calculated as of a specific date selected when filtering the report. Therefore, if a purchase or sale is made in a future accounting period the quantity purchased will not show under Maintain Inventory Items. Or if a purchase or sale is made after the date of the report but before the last day of the current accounting period the two fields will not match either.

How do I make an Invoice and assign it to a particular job?

After you have sent an invoice to the client you need to enter it into Peachtree Accounting. When you enter the invoice you are going to assign each invoice to a particular job. When you record the invoice the total amount of the invoice is going to increase your sales account and also increase Accounts Receivable.
1. Under Tasks, open Sales/Invoices.
2. Enter the Customer ID in the Customer ID field. If the customer is already set up, you can click the magnifying glass and double-click on the customer you want to enter. If the customer is not already set up, you can click the magnifying glass and click New Records at the bottom of the field that opens. If setting up a customer follow the same steps in setting up customers.
3. Enter the invoice number in the Invoice # field.
4. Enter the date of the invoice in the Date field.
5. Enter the Item in the Item field. (Select Service)
6. Enter a description of the service in the Description field (optional).
7. Fill in the Unit Price, Amount, and Job, fields.
8. Click Post to save the information and clear the screen for a new invoice entry.
9. If you are done entering invoices, click Close.
