Peachtree Quantum vs QuickBooks Enterprise

What is some of the major difference between “Peachtree Quantum vs. QuickBooks Enterprise?”
The main thing we noticed was the price. Peachtree Quantum (10 users-Start off at $3,950.00) and QuickBooks Enterprise (10 users-start off at $5,000). What a difference that is in price.

The next thing we noticed is how fast Peachtree Quantum was able to access the reports in less than 1 second. QuickBooks Enterprise said “Key reports run 44% faster”. OK that doesn’t tell me much there. Plus QuickBooks uses a SQL Database.

Third thing we noticed is how it does the inventory. QuickBooks does revenue on average. Peachtree Quantum does it on FIFO and LIFO. You have more windows to look at in QuickBooks. I like a simple program that can show me everything with the min amount of windows as possible. Of course reports are different though. Yes QuickBooks is very well known in the CPA industry but, Peachtree is coming up very fast. Peachtree quantum is very good for exact accurate reporting.

One other thing I noticed is the difference with the customer service. Peachtree Quantum has their help center in Atlanta, Georgia. QuickBooks has support here in the USA, but if it’s late in the afternoon, you could get someone that is overseas.

What kind of checks do I use for each program? All QuickBooks program uses the checks on top or full page of checks. Peachtree products use Checks in Middle.

I highly recommend Peachtree quantum vs. QuickBooks Enterprise.

A lot of small business wonders what kind of checks to use with QuickBooks. There’s so many ways how you can use a check, and the customization of it. You can have the business name in bold, centered, or left aligned. You could even have your logo to the left of the address section. The banks don’t care if you have the lines or no lines printed on the check. There are so many colors you could select from for each checking account you have.

form-1000-258Quickbooks uses checks on top and full page of checks (3 checks to a page). Quickbooks business checks are 100% customizable to your specific needs. You can create your own watermark on the checks if you like as well.  Your business checks must have the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR), as defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is the common machine language specification for the paper-based payment transfer system.  It consists of magnetic ink printed characters of a special design which can be recognized by high speed magnetic recognition equipment.

orderchecks-choicechecksDespite checks often being replaced in favor of debit cards these days, they’re still essential for a number of financial purposes.  Checks are the ideal method in which to mail money, they’re great for large purchases, and essential for paying bills.  Regardless of your financial situation, everyone should have a checkbook for those occasions when debit, credit, and cash just aren’t suitable.  You can also personalize your checks when you order business checks online, selecting from a variety of designs and styles.

When ordering checks online, you can also save a lot of money, and avoid paying the bank’s fees and only being able to select from their checks.  There’s nothing that quite expresses your uniqueness like a special check!

Peachtree VS Quickbooks

Years ago I was looking for a good accounting program. I knew that QuickBooks had a lot to offer, but thepremium_accounting_boxn I found Peachtree. I buy inventory with different quantities, and needed an accurate amount of value I have. Peachtree lets you choose from Average, LIFO, FIFO, and Specific-Unit costing methods. QuickBooks offers only Average costing method. If you need an accurate report, peachtree software is the way to go.

Peachtree Software offers a variety of solutions:

  • Peachtree First
  • Peachtree Pro
  • Peachtree Payroll/Pro
  • Peachtree Complete
  • Peachtree Premium
  • Peachtree Quantum

Industry Solutions

  • Accountants Edition
  • Construction
  • Distribution
  • Manufacturing
  • Nonprofits

Peachtree does offer multi-users as well. With the older versions, wasn’t compatible with Windows Vista. The 2009 is compatible. Their program will not work with MAC’s yet. If you have a large company, I would recommend the Peachtree Quantum. It will be able to handle 10 up to 30 users. Not bad at all when you can do everything in one program. A lot of people don’t know this. You’re not limited to how much data you can put into Peachtree vs. QuickBooks.

blueWhen writing a check, do you ever think about how secure your check is? I mean, not just who you wrote the check to, or how the bank is processing it? Have you thought about the different security features that a check could have? Did you know that a personal check has less security features, than a business check, but it does pass the Check 21 laws and bank regulations?

If you’re running a high end business, it’s recommended to have as many security features you can get. You can look at the back of the business check and see the features. Theirs basic security features to more advanced. Some of the high end checks come with chemical reactivity, invisible fluorescent fibers, to fingerprint security.

Financial Tips for Small Businesses

When you’re a just starting out small business, it can be difficult to compete in the great big world.  Any small business owner knows that the barriers to entry depending on your products and services can range from difficult to flat out impossible.  To keep your small business moving, it’s a good idea to start thinking like a big business early on.  For example, big businesses keep their financials organized and often have an entire team of financial analysts to help them save money.  While your small business probably doesn’t have a research and development department or needs to worry about finding the best price on ten thousand office pens, you do undoubtedly have financials you need to keep in order.  Consider simple processes like using business checks to record expenses, having a database of all your financial data, and opening a business bank account.

If you think like a big fish it’s much more likely you will become one when your business starts to grow!
