
Running your own one-man operation is both a trying and rewarding endeavor. Although the entire onus is squarely on your shoulders, so are all of the accolades. After working in Corporate America for over 25 years, I finally decided to try my hand at my own business a few years back.
I have certainly had my share of trials and tribulations, but I am happier and making more money than I have in my entire life. The biggest change for me was getting used to doing the cleric type of work, such as licking stamps and order checks, which I hadn’t done since early in my career. Now that my daughter is in college, however, I have employed her help for some of these basic tasks.
